Be Creative with your Mac
How to get creative in the School Curriculum using iLife

This course is designed to give School Teachers an introduction to the Apple Mac and to show how Apple’s creative software can be used to enhance learning. The attendees will use the iLife Software (iPhoto, Garageband, Imovie & iDVD) to create a photo slideshow with a musical soundtrack.

Garageband is your own personal recording studio, letting you record anything from radio jingles to a movie soundtrack score. This session will introduce you to Garageband and will let you create your own digital music track to take away with you on either CD or your mp3 player.

Podcasting is an excellent way of sharing information over the internet. It can be a useful tool for teachers in communicating lectures, assignments and any other information to students. This session will let you plan, record and publish your very own podcast.

Comic Life allows you to turn a story into your very own digital comic using digital still photographs. This session will let you create a comic and will introduce you to ideas development, planning and storyboarding.

Stop motion Animation is a technique used in animated films like the Wallace & Gromit series. This session will let you turn a short story into your very own Stop Motion Movie epic. You will create a short story, create your plasticine characters and then film your animation using a video camera and I Can Animate.
Create a Teaching Website Resource

iWeb is a simple way of creating a website which can host multimedia content such as photo slideshows, podcasts, blogs, music and movies. This course will let you plan, design and create your very own website and will discuss ways of publishing a website to the internet.
Cross Curricular Learning Through Movie Making
Using iMovie, Garageband & iDVD

Movie making is accessible to everyone now and is a fantastic way for students to tell their stories and explore different ideas. iMovie is an entry level editing program which turns your recorded footage into stunning movies which can then be uploaded to the internet or exported to DVD.
This course will let you create your very own short film. In the morning the course will focus on film pre production and production techniques such as storyboarding, scripting and filming. In the afternoon the focus will be on post production, including editing footage, adding audio and exporting to dvd.
Adding a Final Cut to your Movie Editing skills

Final Cut Express is a more advanced editing program than iMovie. It is much more flexible and powerful giving the editor many more options such as extra audio/video tracks, numerous editing options, audio options, compositing and effects. This course will let you explore many of these aspects while editing a short documentary.
