e-mission training…… 2 places left

Bosco City Learning Centre will be hosting a unique teacher training opportunity on Thursday 11th May from 10 am. e-Mission is an educational product previously provided only to selected groups. An e-Mission includes live link-ups to space as well as curriculum links for Geography, Science, Maths, ICT and Citizenship.

Essentially, an e-mission scenario puts students in the role of an Emergency Response Team. The date is September 4th 1996 when the Caribbean island of Montserrat is threatened by an approaching hurricane and a dangerous volcano. The team must look after the inhabitants of the island of Montserrat during the crisis. Students carry out preparation tasks beforehand and on Mission Day work in teams to collect live data from a satellite, analyse it and then formulate a plan of action, which they relay immediately to e-Mission Control.
